"We think we tell stories, but stories often tell us, tell us to love or to hate, to see or to be blind. Often, too often, stories saddle us, ride us, whip us onward, tell us what to do, and we do it without questioning. The task of learning to be free requires learning to hear them, to question them, to pause and hear silence, to name them, and then to become the storyteller."
The Faraway Nearby by Rebecca Solnit.

Why Me? Why Now?
A storytelling webinar from Joe Lambert and the Centre for Digital Storytelling in California challenged me to tell stories as part of my own 'seven steps' process. When the webinar sessions finished, I finally had the confidence (albeit tentative) to share some of the stories I have made since first learning about digital storytelling in 2007. In 2020, and intermittently thereafter, I keep returning to the site.

The Everchanging Story

At least once a week, I hope to add a poem, story or digital story here - a bit of a blog. Chronology will go askew and intention may not hold true. There may be typos. errors and updates. But this is a living, breathing sort of space and perfection can be boring.

How exciting that digital media make storytelling, poetry, performance instantly accessible - we can connect at the click of a button.
This page has links to people and projects I have walked beside, digitally and actually - people who have moved and inspired me as we travelled together.
